Is the HVAC test hard?
It's challenging but very passable. Most candidates lose points on refrigeration cycle math, EPA 608 recovery rules, and electrical troubleshooting rather than on general theory. Once you can explain why each wrong answer is wrong, the exam feels routine.
How many questions are on the HVAC certification test?
It depends on the credential. EPA 608 has a 25-question core plus 25 questions per type. State licensing and NATE exams generally run 100–150 multiple-choice questions with a two to four hour limit.
